In terms of their backgrounds and strategic interests, the HTAC partners ideally supplement
one another. As institutional investors, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec
and Hastings Funds Management Ltd. have the task of investing the capital entrusted to them as
securely and profitably as possible. They both have extensive experience in the financing of private
infrastructure facilitiesAustralia and Canada were pioneers in this sector.
KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH is also an established presence
in the field of infrastructure financing, investing in equity participations and providing long-term
loans to infrastructure projects. Since the mid-90s, HOCHTIEF AirPort GmbHtoday under the
HOCHTIEF Concessions brandhas carved out a position for
itself as one of the world's leading independent airport managers. It places its experience
in privatization procedures, transaction processes and the operational management of airports at
the disposal of HTAC.
By pooling these varied competencies, HTAC intends both to increase the asset value of its present
shareholdingsin the airports of Athens, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Sydneyand also
to extend this portfolio. Together with HOCHTIEF Concessions, HTAC participates in bidding procedures
for airports, with the partners deciding jointly on the suitability of any specific project. The
focus of interest is primarily on facilities with more than five million passengers a year which
offer the right prerequisites for stable growth and good value enhancement.
