Sydney Airport is the only facility in the HTAC portfolio to have been fully privatized. The state has
withdrawn completely from its operation and management. Since privatization in 2002, the airport has
grown considerably benefiting from a substantial capital investment program. With 35.6 million passengers
in 2011, Sydney is the busiest airport in Australia.
Shareholders
HTAC has a stake of
6.50 percent in the airport company, Southern Cross Airports Corporation Holdings Ltd.,
while HTA holds
5.61 percent. The other shareholders are ASX listed SYD and affiliates with
85 percent and Australian super funds with
3 percent.
